Sorry if this the inappropriate place to ask, still new to truck ownership and this forum... let me know if I should ask somewhere else??
I just bought a 90 Ranger with 4WD in May. I live in Minnesota, so I was excited to have it for the snow this winter. Just had the transmission replaced when it went out in September. That's been working fine although I have noticed it's kind of had a hard time locking into each gear until I give it a little extra gas.
Finally had the first snowfall and below-freezing temperatures last night, so I was hot to try out the 4WD around midnight. Everything was rockin just fine. Took it home, parked in my lot, engaged the parking brake and left the truck in 4WD.
It continued snowing overnight and the temperature continued to drop - this morning I started it up and let it run for about 10 minutes while I scraped the ice and got ready to go to work. Disengaged the parking brake and put it in reverse. No movement. Am I stuck in snow? Nope. Tried going forward a few inches. No movement. Put it in neutral and in gear a few times, engaged and disengaged the parking brake a few times, took it in and out of 4WD, nothing.. The wheels are not moving at all..
What happened???
