1990 Ford Ranger

I have a 1990 Ford Ranger XLT RWD I4 Manual Tranny
It started making a grinding noise every time i drive it kind like a shhhhshhhhhhshshhhhh like noise.
Not like gears grinding. I have no clue what is causing it.
A friend told me it is normal to do it in neutral. But now while you are driving it.
Any ideas?

Thats what i thought at first too but its not we found its something in the transmission i just dont know what in there would cause it...
