1990 ford ranger

hi i have a 1990 ford ranger with a 2.9 v6. we just got done switching the motor because the other one blew a piston. i have never switched a motor before so i had some friends do it and they have one wire left over that is not plugged in. it is a black wire with a yellow stripe. comes from the eec under the air box. it has a rectangular two prong connector on it. i have no idea where it plugs in. any help would be awesome. i have tried to start the truck and i have no spark. replaced the coil, ignition module, hall effect sensor inside the distributor. still no spark thats why i think this wire may be the culprit.

Black / Yellow is the Fuel Pump relay power that goes from the fuse box to the relay in the schematics. Do you hear the fuel pump turn on when you turn the key to run?

FP should make any spark difference though. Black / Yellow may be used elsewhere too I guess.

What is the other color in the connector?

yes i can hear the fuel pump turn on. there is fuel fed up to the lines on the motor. there are only two wires in the connector one is black w/yellow stripe and the other is just black. any idea why i wont have any spark? i replaces the parts as earlier explained. as far as grounds i replaced the ground from battery to frame and the ground from motor to frame is attached as well. anything else i can check? thanks in advance.
