I just finished conversion.Installed roller motor that i rebuilt. The engine was bored .040 over and installed Mahle pistons and bearings.I had motor line bored and crank assembly balance.Heads rebuilt with new bronze guides and vavles reworked.Added B303 cam and the conversion roller lifters and guide.Engine was 1980 model but conversion was good.Topped off with Ford aluminum intake and 600 Holley carb.I changed from fuel injection to carb but have the parts if i want to go that way.Bought motor mounts from Jegs.Headers from Hedman.I used manual fuel pump and it works well.I installed a manual 5 speed T-5 from a mustang.I also converted the clutch pedals to cable instead of hydraulic. This was a task!Fabricated a set of mustang and clutch pedals and it works great. My truck has a 3" body lift along with a 4" suspension lift and 31 10 50 tires on aluminum 8" wheels. This truck drives out great.I love it with the V-8 power. It doesn't seem to be lack of power with the larger tires. The 7.5 rear end handles the power good but no off-roading for this truck.I would like to keep truck in good condition so only the highway.Conversion wasn't bad worked out rather well.
