I have a 1990 2.3 m5od. It’s had rough idle issues ever since I bought it and I have had trouble figuring out the cause. I’ve installed a new tps and It will sit around 1000 rpm and die when idling sometimes. I haven’t put an iac on it so I’m considering that. I’ve considered that the ecm could be my problem as I found it has a leaking capacitor but I don’t really know where to start here. Any advice would help.

If it's a mid to late '90 with a MAF sensor instead of an early with a MAP sensor on the firewall it would care a lot more about vacuum leaks. Honestly it kinda sounds like a sticky IAC, you could try taking it out and spraying it with some electric parts cleaner or MAF cleaner to see if that helps. One dumb thing I remember about my '90 originally is if you got in it and took off before the engine got down to idle on a hot restart the next time you got down to idle it would stall but that could have been a TPS adjustment thing...
