I noticed two wires hanging out of my tranny when I dropped it today, and don't know what they are supposed to hook up to. (This is a rebuilt replacement that I didn't install & I'm unfamiliar with it, and the truck.) The unconnected wires are on the passenger side, opposite of where the speedometer cable, and another pair of wires are installed on the drivers side, and about in the same place in relation. I know the tach does not work on this truck, not sure if the back up lights work or not...Can't find diagrams; nothing in my crappy manual. What is it?

Black with pink stripe / purple with orange stripe = Rev light
White with black stripe / black with white stripe = neutral switch

Yep, neutral switch, my '89 tranny has one, my '90 didn't... I have no idea what years used them and apparently it's just for idle stability or something, don't worry about it :)

Great. Thanks guys. I googled everywhere for that diagram with no luck. Excellent.
