1989 F-250 2wd

I got 13.6 mpg [us gal.] in a 68 Torino with c-6 auto, 3250#. BUT that would be higher compression, advanced cam compared to 86, better fuel at the time [ late 70's ].

Richard

id say with being heavier than the torino and i assume lower gear ratio you are looking at no more than 11mpg

Well the 5.8 can give a whopping 14, max. I'd think a 7.5 would be somewhat lower.

10.... on a good day. 11-12 if you only drive downhill.

yeah the 460 is definatly a hog put as small of a tire on it as you can get away with and a tanneau if you can i would usually tell you to stay out of the gas but on a 460 that dosent seem to matter

I averaged 11 mpg with my CCLB dually,460,automatic with 4.10. Now that was unloaded and driving it like my grandpa would.LOL. When I towed my bumper pull camper, I got around 7 mpg. Not the best mpg,but I didn't buy it for fuel mileage. I sold it and bought a 7.3 powerstroke. End of fuel mileage woes......lots more power and tq too. I have heard of some guys getting 13-14 with a 460, but I'd have to see it to believe it.

I had a y block 63 and it didn't get 11 out of it. By the way it had no power at all.

My truck, same setup except automatic gets 8 mpg. It has been parked for a while, thus the switch to the Ranger.

Yes I had I truck similar though it was the 87 4wd. You are probably looking at 10 1/2 to maybe 11 mpg. That also depends on how you drive it too though! Definately not something I would take on a road trip but im sure you already know the 460 isnt dissapointing!
