I am new to the forum. I live in the Kansas City, Missouri Area. I have recently caght the bronco bug. I started out about 3 months ago with geting an 86' B@ and have since traded for an 89' I love this thing and i am ready to do some wheeling. I have not done much yet, but the wheels are turning.

This weekend i picked up a cheap bumper that my friend had built for his 94 EXPLODER. so it fit with a little persuation! but i think that it looks pretty good and will serve its purpose.

Any and all tips/tricks are welcome!

soon to come:
Sliders
Rear Fab Bumper
Lift
Tires
Lockers
etc???

That's a sweet B2 man. I am working on building mine into a trail rider also. I like the bumper too I am in the process of building one but it is still in the mock up stage so hopefully be Feb I'll have it on the truck. Good luck with the build!

Thanks! it is still a work in progress. I have to get some tow hooks on the front, figure where to mount my license plate and do a little more tweaking to it. i have been sick all week and had to get out of the house and get something accomplished. i still have to level it up a bit more with the body. it was getting late last night so i just finished bolting it on for now.

will have more pics to come

here is a couple from today

Welcome to Bronco addiction, you will have lots of fun upgrading your rig. I have had two and I will drive a bronco till I check in with my maker and I am convinced that Jesus will be rolling one to. Site youre on is great for info and I find that Jeffs bronco graveyard is indespensible, just got done ordering all the stuff to rebuild the d35 I got and am excited to bolt the skyjacker class2 4" lift w the extended radius arms I got. all the brackets are on and I am just saving the cash to get the 35 and 8.8 I got regeared so I can have my dream rig. We will never be done will we, but I wish you the best on your new project.

Thanks man! i will be sporting some 35's in the near future also. but this is my daily driver so i have towait until i save up some vaction time so i can put the lift on.

Welcome aboard :icon_cheers:

Question! How do i know if i have a DANA 35 or Dana 28? Also how do i know if i have 7.5" or 8.8" rear? its an 89 B2

if its an 89 u probably have a 28 and 7.5 but there are axle codes in the tech library now i wouldnt even put 35's on a 35 8.8 combo let alone a 28 7.5 combo

Do yourself a favor (and your wallet) and go straight for D44 SAS. It's relatively a bolt in swap, and will be more dependable and reliable. The TTB can be built to handle terrain, but IMO its higher maintenance than the 44. Nice B2 and welcome :icon_thumby:

You have a D28 and 7.5.

You can clear 33's with a lot of cutting and no lift. I have done it. I am not sure about 35's. If you want that tire size, you will need a couple inches of lift + cutting.

My only advice for your is whatever you do, keep the lift height to a minimum to keep your center of gravity low. Looks like you are dealing with a lot of rust so you're not really losing much by cutting a lot of metal away.

Good to know, guess I will have to take the 35's off my truck. Is this from some new research you've been doing or something??? Do tell, I thought the last 2 years of wheeling would have proven my 8.8 but maybe I have a ticking time bomb?!? :annoyed:

I ran 37" iroks on my stock 35/8.8 for about 8 months, although I went through front bearings about every month, busted two inner wheel bearing nuts, a couple of sets of ball joints, and about 3 drop bracket repairs. Then I went SAS with a 60...

That is certainly a heavy tire for a D35. Although a friend of mine had that same tire on a Jeep TJ with a HP D30 for quite a while...little different animal, but he did OK. Weak point ended up being the gear set.

My weak point ended up being a V8 swap, welded 8.8 28 spline, a heavy right foot, and a little bouncing going in a circle...

i am planning on slapping on my "PERRY"S FAB" 3" bulge fenders and quarters. they say that it will clear 33 with no lift. so i am thinking that with minimal lift it will clear 35's! I am also going to eventualy go with an SAS. but will just be a cherokee D35 i alrealy have it. i have a parts B2 that i am using for the mock up. Since this is my daily driver i dont want it to be tied up while i get everything figured out.
