Hello

My banger is wasting too much gasoline, black smoke and black dust... any idea?

:(

Burning rich for sure...maybe a plugged vac line or sensor is wonky...not sure, but I don't think you can adjust anything...maybe try disconnecting the battery for a bit to reset the computer...or try pulling codes...

Is the CEL on by any chance?

start with pulling codes (click on the Tech Library link above, scroll down and look for EEC IV diagnostics and follow the analog volt meter method, just skip the volt meter and count the flashes of the check engine light). Go from there, next thing is to pull the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator and see if fuel is passing through that port then the regulator is bad. Other things that will do that would be a broken vacuum line to the MAP sensor (top of the firewall passenger side above heater blower) or a cracked exhaust manifold before the oxygen sensor.

should be one under the hood just in front of the radiator by the hood latch
