Alright my question is do I have to engage the lockers every time I turn on the 4wd? I just want to know if the front tires will engage without the lockers.

Lockers? Are you referring to the hub lock outs at the tires?

Yes you have to turn them to the locked position for the 4wd to work. They disengage the axels so while you're driving on pavement the axels, front drive shaft won't spin.

For future reference they are called locking hubs. Lockers refer to diff lockers
