well, there's a couple questions before recommending parts etc....
what size tires do you run? how much are you looking to spend?
is it a street only rig or an offroad rig?
I run 35X14.5 R15 nitto's on steel wheels, and theyre heavy as hell and theyre on my 95 ranger. I replace the parts with autozone or napa replacements.. crank off the calipers, bring them down for the core charge and get replacements for about 15 bucks each. pads are cheap enough also. rotos can cost you.
i replaced everything last year on the front and had no issues since, although im about to check the pads for an upcoming event we have.
we just did the rear axle swap to the explorer in February, and replaced everything the same....napa/autozone specials. no issues.
you can go crazy getting calipers/ special pads and slotted/drilled rotors. but for beating on a truck, getting rocks and dirt caught in them. i buy em, and have no worries when it comes to replacing them spending about 120 bucks a year to do front and back wont break the bank....but that's my personal outlook.
if your looking to fo with high grade calipers, pads and rotors, i would suggest reading the brake bible here about rotors and pads....find out what your preference is, and then looking online for the best deals.
