1988 ford ranger wireing harnesses

My name is Dustin and i have a 89 ranger ext cab 2.9 3in body lift. i picked up an 88 that has a 6in suspention lift that is going under my 89. how ever i gave the truck to a buddy of mine who went and bought another 88 for the cab and bed. The 88 that he bought had a 4 cylinder in it so i was wondering if the 2.3 and the 2.9 have the same wireing harnesses or not. thanks

They are similar but not exactly the same...I was advised that the 2.9 harness could be used with the 2.3 many years ago, but I didn't try that because my 2.3 was carbed...

My 2.9 harness had extras like A/C (that I think was on a different cable)...so I just swapped in the whole 2.0 (the original engine was not a 2.3) harness inside and out...
