Never seen a high rider stx with a cap, usually they had the light bar in the bed and tube bumpers front and rear. Nice though! Same interior/dash with tach as my ‘88, mine just didnt have cruise, a/c or a V6. With the tiny tires I bet felt quick, I had the 2.3 and it felt like a V6, It had 205/14’s and 3.73’s, was only a 2wd though.

I figured someone removed it to put the cap on. The bullbar is missing too

Doesn't look like there's any holes in the bed where a light bar was ever mounted.

This truck really shows how the sun can eat up the 1980's paint. It'd be kinda cool to clear coat it as it is.

It would still be a nice one to save, though.

Good catch.

Didnt the hi-ryders have a manual t case to?

I thought they did, Also- it does have “some” lift but doesn’t really look like “high-rider” lift.

Maybe its suffering from the "its a 70s F series 4wd so its a highboy" syndrome.

Either way its a good price.

I'm a tiny bit skeptical that it is a high rider. It looks taller than a normal truck but it may just be smaller tire size... hard to say. No roll bar, no grill guard, no light switch... probably just a normal STX.

The roll bar, push bar, and tube bumper were optional on STXs, they weren’t part of the high rider package.

Did the High Rider use springs that were exclusive to that package?

yes, taller front coils, different radius arm brackets, not sure about the rear suspension, possibly taller than normal lift blocks & U-bolts.

They were available in the accessory catalog for anything too.

Front tire clearance looks more than normal, all 4wd's got the same size 215/75-15, STX got OWL tires though.
