1988 BII Build

i havent tried attacking from above yet. i dont think there's enough room in there to hit it with any sort of force. i'm just leaving it for now, once i have it on all 4's again, i'm gonna get a little more violent with it lol.

there's a place on the puller to attach a ratchet, so i'm gonna put a cheater bar on it and see if i can get it that way.

thanks for the advice rich

You may have to gusset the puller. ive heard of ppl bending them sraight doing that

the puller is a loan-a-tool from autozone. if it breaks, it's going back and i'm getting another one. my electric impact isnt strong enough to bend it i dont think. it would probably blow up before the puller bent.

So how much would you ask if you made a pair of extended radius arms for me?? I'm perfectly capable of making them myself but I'm kinda layed up right now i had surgery a week ago.

just for the arms? what about the frame mounts?

but for just the arms, i'd do it for $100 plus materials.

there's some problems there though.

1)i dont have another set of factory radius arms to hack up though. i took everything from the D28 to the scrapper. i would've liked to keep it, but i just dont have room in my tiny garage.

2)metal around here is damn expensive for some reason. it was $147ish for the 2x2x.250 wall metal i got to make mine, i had to buy 20' of it.

3)once i make them, shipping will be killer. one of them probably weighs 30-40 pounds....the 2x2x.250 stuff is damn heavy

by the time you got me a set of factory RA"s to hack up, paid me $100 and got me the material, you probably could've just bought a set from duff or skyjacker. not saying i dont wanna do it, just giving you something to think about :icon_cheers:

Ehh after hearing that i think id be better off waiting I have all the materials in my shop so everything is free.

got the pass side all buttoned up. gonna weld on the lower shock mount once it's sitting on it's own weight, dont want them too long or too short.

wrenched on the damn pitman arm for a half hour. still being a bitch. it's moved a little bit. i used a ratchet and a cheater bar. i broke my ratchet too, so i couldnt get it off.

yeah, i sprayed a tad on top of it. gonna do it again before i leave for work

i'm trying. i cant work too late as we live in a apartment complex and i have a stupid thing called a job. lol

Try this; leave the puller on, put a 3lb or bigger hammer behind the big end, then give it a good hard rap on the small end. You may have to do a bunch of hits. I have used just one heavy hammer but I don't like to as I think it could damage bearings inside the box.

Richard

i tried hammering it with a 1/2" piece if rebar while the puller was on it, but it just kept sliding off when i hit it. i'm gonna soak it before i go to work and hopefully it'll be laying on the floor when i get home. i cant work tonight cause i've got an indoor soccer game.
