bad news, i cut the wrong part of the rock guard off.....i was trying to get it trimmed last night and had it upside down. lol.....oops. good thing i have a welder.

i like having the piece above the fairlead too. i'm gonna change it up from the cardboard piece i have though.....thinking something like this

i'm gonna work on it more tonight since i have to go to a wedding tomorrow

love that bumper design w/ the bar!

fwiw-- the stone deflector is $30 on LMC. i've seen them as cheap as $18 (plus shipping) before.. if you can weld it, and make it look fine, by all means.. free>$18. but they really ain't all that expensive.

no, i'm not gonna order a new one just to cut it up. i'll just weld it back together and trim it up to fit in there. i need to clearance it where the winch is gonna sit as well as where it sits near the frame rails. just need to figure out how to attach it.

i'm probably gonna do some sort of tube fender with the factory fender incorporated into it as well. then tie that in to the sliders.

got a bit done tonight.....yes, i need an alignment lol

next time i'm around my truck, i'll measure... idk the measurements but I didn't do all the cutting on my bumper, the other guy did that part.

or just go buy one or borrow one from someone and figure it out.

edit: according to this its a 10" bolt pattern

edit 2:
from a guy on jeep forum
"The most common fairlead dimensions are 11 3/4" long to the ends of the roller frame

Overall height is 4 1/2"

The mounting holes are 10" on center for 7/16's bolts or about .450 diameter. "

i thought i had read somewhere it was 10" on center, but i couldnt find it anywhere to confirm.

thanks for the info 4.0....wouldnt let me rep though

didnt get back from the wedding til this afternoon, so i went down to the garage for a bit and made the front plate and cut out the fairlead hole.

i just need to drill the two 7/16" holes on either and it'll be done. out of the 20 drill bit kits i have, not one has a 7/16" sized bit so i gotta buy one.

i think he was building off measurements...

standard bolt pattern for the winch is 10x4.5? i think...
warn vr8000, just for an example, is 20.8" wide and say 7" deep..

yeah, i built it for the smittybuilt xrc 8 winch. a 10"x4.5" mounting pattern and i was going of of it being 21" long (or wide i guess you would say)

it is kind of small, but i didnt want some huge honking bumper hanging off the front that i would need an engine hoist to take on and off by myself.

finished welding the plates up

i somehow managed to get get it pretty level
P3130002.jpg

put the front pieces on the sides as well

i dont think i like the clevis mounts under the bumper, gonna have to figured out another place for them
P3130005.jpg

thinking about leaving this little guy on it too
P3130007.jpg

i just need to weld up the rock guard so i can put it all back together
