Im lookin at a lifted 87 Ext Cab Ranger, I jus wanna
know if the body (Cab n Bed) from a 1998 to 2008
will bolt right on to the frame with no problems..

I know the Front Bumper Frame set bolt up is different..

Because the 1987 body is all rusted and it has Manual
Everything, Rubber Floors, Dented n all that kinda ISH..

Truck has a EFI 351 35s n a C4 4.88s n a Solid Front Axle..

So long as it is the same configuration, the body mounts will be in the exact same spot. Meaning your 87 ext cab frame will only accept a ext cab body.

Not true. I know that in 98 the extended cab was extended a few more inches. The entire 98+ Extended cab truck is at least a few inches longer than the first gens, this includes the wheelbase. As far as I know the least that would have to be done is to relocate the bed mounting points on the frame accommodate the newer cab length. It may also require moving the rear cab mounts and axle back on the frame.

Can any1 else back this up?? Not that I dont trust "JoshT"..
I would like to have 2 or 3 people that say the same thing..

Bump for cab/frame difference on 98+ Rangers Please

They made the regular cab a couple of inches deeper in 98 for leg room issues but as far as I know, the extended cabs stayed the same.

Thanks.. Any one else do this swap????
or a 97- to a 98+ Body Swap knows..

best bet would be to measure like crazy, body mount to body mount, body mount to back of cab and worst to worst cut a few inches off box an make new body mounts. I really dout it will be a direct bolt on, BUT could be wrong though.

I can tell you for sure that Josh is wrong about wheel base. When I was researching parts for my M5 swap I got on to one of those part finder sites looking for a drive shaft. The interchange index said that every ex cab up to 2005 (as far as I went) had a 127" wheel base.

Google is an amazing tool......Look up the wheel base for each vehicle.
