My passenger wiper arm in 1987 Ranger will not stay - eventually it pops out of the rod that is connected to the driver arm/motor.

Does anyone have part numbers to replace the "cup" on the rod?

Any help would be appreciated as I cannot use this as is in the rain.

Is what I am missing part (3) in the LMC parts list?

I had to replace my wiper motor. The #3 is the clip that holds arm, not sure where to get it at as I reused mine. I do remeber to get access to it, there are two plates to get access to the cowl. One is on the drivers side and the other is just behind the Upper Intake manifold. I forget which access hole I used but if it is the one behind the Upper Intake, I would suggest taking the Upper Intake off and getting that plate removed. I do remeber looking thru the slots in the cowl and getting that clip on. I think it was the one behind the Upper Intake. I wouild highly suggest getting all of the debris out of the cowl before trying to install the clip. You could possibly drop that clip a few times before getting it installed. I remeber dropping it and was glad I had cleaned the cowl out as I was able to retrieve it with a extended magnet. It just slides on the ball.

Chances are that the clip is laying in the bottom of the cowl. Remove both panels and vacuum it out and find it in the vacuum cleaner.

If I recall correctly I had to access the clip thru the larger panel. Ford could if made it easier. It’s been a while since I did it. Another thing I think I did was unbolt the motor and slid the wiper bar to the larger panel to get the clip on and the slid the motor and assembly to where I could bolt the motor to the firewall. You may need to remove Upper Intake.
