I’ve got two of the factory Ranger EVs! Just picked up the second one today! The red one is a 98’ and the white one is a 00’.
Both were originally Lead Acid trucks (as opposed to NiMH), though the white one now has LiFePO4. Both trucks have been sitting for several years and need new batteries.
One will likely end up become a donor/parts rig for the other, Ive just got to decide which one to keep...

Wow! Those are both pretty clean! For being a truck that was supposed to be destroyed, there's a surprising amount left around.

Out of about the 1,800 or so originally built, there's probably only about 300 left. The red one has just under 34k original miles, and isn't as clean as it looks (has some damage to the pass side fender/door). The white however is super straight, just has a few paint issues on the bed-sides, and it has under 7k miles!

This sounds awful and stupid. First thing I'd do, after talking him down to $45, is a 5.0 swap.

I'm all for clean energy and EV vehicles but the technology is not there yet.

Work on my nuclear plasma fusion reactor powered ranger is not moving along as well as I had hoped either. Sustaining the magnetic containment field is proving troublesome. The damn thing just keeps opening portals to other dimensions.
