1987 California Package Ford Ranger XLT???

idk looks schwanging, would look good with some fresh original paint minus the topper, i had one on mine and imo if you wanted a closed rear hatch, get a suv. but imo of course.
that antenna looks cool cocked back like that

That is by far the weirdest looking topper I have ever seen. Looks like something out of star trek...

Personally I would narrow the bed so that it would be normal width, but with the stepside look. Never seen one of those before.

That truck is pretty sweet. I saw a GMC Sierra Denali today with dually looking fenders but with a single axle.

The four wheel steer trucks had stepside-wanna-be looking bedsides.

i have actually seen a couple running around my area but they were regular cabs, havent gotten to stop and look closely at one yet though

The only thing I know is that those beds are a factory option only offerd at select dealerships. At least thats what it was like in canada in the early 90's.

Thanks for all the input so far! I'm going to take it up to the FORD dealership tomorrow and see if I have any luck getting some new stuff to restore it. I would really like to get a new paint job on it. But I want to replace the sticker package that came on it after the new paint job. If they can't get them I guess I'll have to have them painted back on. I'll keep everyone posted.

Please keep us informed on the restoration. I agree with you making it look new again.

Wow- neat Ranger and shell, cool 80s look, never seen anything like it! keep it rolling and Im sure it will be a worthy collectible one day, if not all ready.

It sure has a wicked topper on it. I like lift idea, would really be sweet then.

It's just added-on fender flares. J.C. Whitney sells a dual wheel kit and the flares (which looks like shit IMHO). The factory never built them that way, it's either a dealer add-on or built by a conversion company.
