Hey guys, I have a 1987 ranger with a 2.9 that puts antifreeze into the oil, and was left with water in the coolent system for a winter, so i dont know if its the head or the block.

Anyway I found a great parts truck that i think will make a good swap, but i have a few questions.

Here is the truck http://unclehenrys.com/init/classifieds/ad_detail/3864844/?_next=http%3A%2F%2Funclehenrys.com%2Finit%2Fsearch%2Fresults%2F1%233864844

i have a 2.9 with the 5 speed transmition, i read the entire swap guide and it says that pre 1994 4.0 5 speed is the ideal swap for my truck, but my question is

Can i use my trans with the 4.0, they mentioned somthing about the imput shaft, but my dad owns a machine shop, so if it can be done i think he can do it.

also, how different are trucks in wiring, will i be able to splice and make it work?

my overall question is, is this worth it or should i just try and find a pre 1994 4.0 ranger? ive been looking for a while now, and this is the best ive found, i dont know if i will ever find the exact truck

Thanks!
