Hi, I have the 2.3 liter 1986 ford ranger, automatic transmission, with a leaking oil level sensor. autozone and orielleys dont have one, and the dealer wants over 60 for one and its just a small part, im not paying that much..

is there any way i could just put a "x" sized bolt in the hole and seal it up with some sort of silicone or something? btw, there were no wires or anything connected to this sensor... it is one of the only places (i think) where oil is leaking from this truck..

thanks, Adam

the theads are "pipe thread", so... a simple pipe plug should suffice, just take your old sender to make sure you get the right size.

exbass94, those arent the parts I need x_x I eh, "customised" it with some yellow gasket silicone that is drying now, i was thinking about using it with more silicone to seal it up and hope it never leaks with no plans on ever taking it off again... dunno how well that is/would work x_x

I had the same problem and still have not found a NEW replacement. I went to the junk yard and pulled about 3 of them when i was out there, so if it fails on me i have some spares.
