Hi,
Beyond the existing problems I am having trying to find out why my 1986 Ranger 2.3L 140CID 5-speed 4-CYL. EFI GAS truck is stalling after about 40 seconds upon starting. I have replaced spark plugs, wires,cap and rotor, removed my Idle air control valve, and cleaned both ports and plunger with carb cleaner, let dry and replaced,after it warms up about fifteen minutes, after depressing on the gas pedal,it seems to hold it's own.

In looking at both the Fuel Relay Switch (part# F1HZ9345A) and the green Multi function switch ( F8PZ14N135EA) the wires from the pig tail going into both connectors look corroded. I called area Salvage yards and Ford dealerships,and they do have the switches, but do not have these connectors so I could splice them together. I don't know if I should even attempt to replace that multi function relay switch not knowing exactly what it does.

I went to Rockauto.com and all I found was two items for the fuel relay connector...I don't know which would work, even though they look the same. They are:
1P1162 for $10.99 and
1P1102 for $11.58 To be used with 1R1294 Relays.

those must be supereceeded numbers.. F1 would be 91 and F8 is 98 so they must have been replaced at some time....

the ones that were org on the truck should have been E3TB 9345 A2A (green based) and E4LB 13A025 A2A (grey base)
E3=84 and E4=84
Normally the green one is for the fuel pump, and I am not sure about the grey one...
all the green ones should be "keyed the same and be a 4 pin and the greys should be keyed the same and are 5 pin

so you need the relays and the conectors? any parts stoye should have the relays (they will be universal 4 pin or 5 pin.. the color ones have guide slots and not an open bottom like the parts stores.

Do you have a Pick and pull close to you? hit any 80's ford car or truck and look under the dash and snip you a hand full out

If you cant find any hit me up I have both the relay and the socket

Hey,
I wrote,
"and the green Multi function switch (F8PZ14N135EA)"

According to the the Ford dealer parts dept today, The numbers "F8PZ14N135EA" are the NEW Reference numbers for the Multi-function connector switch on my truck application, which superseded the "1CC/E8DB13853AA" stamped on the green plug into the HARNESS I AM LOOKING FOR, or the part is called Multi-function relay connector with the 4-wire pig tail.

In the photo, the one on the right has four or five wires going into the connector switch part, but inside there ate two flat blades going one way and one going the other way.

I also asked him what the OEM numbers for my '86 truck application on the Fuel pump relay connector switch (harness) and he told me F1HZ9345A. That's all I know. BUT....if I misunderstood what he was reading back to me....well, I 'll call another dealer parts. I called around a few Pick-a-parts in the area, and they explicitly told me they don't have these relay connectors.

So basically, I am looking for the two relay harness connectors (1) Fuel pump relay switch,with pig tails,and (2) The Multi-function relay switch with pig tails. I already have both plug-ins for these. Oddly enough, Autozone told me the Ford OEM number for that Multi-function switch connector is comes up as a Horn relay.

The Ford dealer just gave you the new numbers that replace your orginal ones.

just go to the pick and pull, they have them.. but just do not list them... just walk out to any 80's ford car or truck and look under the hood or dash (85-88 Thunderbirds have a 6pack of relays just over the trans hump on the dirives side, under the dash, 2 green and 4 grey)

Ford uses an alph-newmeric numbering system on there parts.. the letter tells you the decade and the number is the year in the decade.
C=60
D=70
E=80
F=90

so then an E3 would be an 84 and F1 is a 91

what you have in the pic are just basic relays... your trying to make this harder than what it is

the name realy dosnt matter, and there are lots of misnamed parts in the eletronic parts catalog at the parts stores( they tend to go thu 2-4 translations overseas before they end up in english)

Thanks. Story of my life..I love to complicate things. Just nice to know if my fuel pump goes out, then I could replace that relay, because gas is getting to the engine and firing over. Sorry for all the grief. Finally a weekend! :-)
