1986 Bronco II Build Thread doohickey

Is there any difference between the harmonic balancer from 1986 to 1992?

New Distributor, runs like a champion. Huh. All that consternation for nothing. Not exactly sure if that was the issue, but that's what I'm going with. Ha. Well just got to get the new u joints installed on the front driveshaft and we'll be cookin'. With grenades.

Glad you got it!

well, it's 4x4 now, but there seems to be a problem with the electronic shift when the truck gets warm. It doesn't shift into 4hi after the trucks been running for a while. It'll work fine when its first running, but then it'll cut to 2wd and won't go back, just buzz and click, like it's trying to... any guesses?

:bawling:i just do not know about this truck. it runs fine and then it runs like shit. there is something wrong with the front axle, in 4lo it wants to rip the wheel out of my hands when im turning. when the 4x4 works at all. this damn thing is a hassle. i made a mistake jumping for the first one i saw, when i should have been looking for a 5speed, manual tcase manual hubs, etc. i don't know what to do with it. sometimes i want to get rid of it, and then i dont.:annoyed::annoyed::annoyed::annoyed::annoyed::annoyed:

That sounds like normal behavior in 4lo. As for the running, try to note temperature and humidity when it's acting up.

Thats too bad. I think they are great little trucks. Mine too is a pita. I lost fuel pressure on xmas day. After 40 hours of work replacing everything fuel related, i replaced a bad fuel pressure regulator. 10 months later i have a non working fuel gauge. Its a wiring issue

yea i got an 86 f150 with an 81 I6, 4spd and manual tcase and hubs and windows and 9inch rear axle!! what i wanted in the first place.
