It's always hard for me to do a job the first time, because I'm never sure how a gizmo comes apart. (especially with 25 years of rust)
I started my day trying to replace a 1 foot section of popped rusted brake line for the drivers side where it goes into the T fitting. Of course with all the twisting to get it loose, the side that runs out the other end to the passenger side broke as well. Seeing how this was going to go, I decided to see if I could open the bleed fitting in the caliper. (it broke off) And a hose is now leaking..
Anyway, looks like I'm going to do more of a complete brake job than I planned!
Here's what I need help on:
How do you remove the brake hose from where it fits through the coil spring mount?
It looks like it fits through from the outside & then a spring clip on the inside would slide over & hold it in place. I assume the inner & outer hex head are just for holding the hose still when tightning steel line fitting.
I've tried to hammer it off with a punch, but the clip just spins, & it doesn't loosen up.
What am I missing?
Thanks for your help!
