Hey, SO I have an 84 ranger diesel 4speed. I want to put a turbo on it and maybe some pump mods if possible. I have had the truck since like 01. I never drive it. In fact I live in Ak and its where i grew up in Oregon. Im goin home in a few weeks and I want to mess with it for shits and giggles.

Does anyone on here know anything about them?
I think its a Mitsu 2.2L but not sure.
Any help would be awesome!

Im pretty used to moddin 12valve cummins' so shoot some ideas my way

Sounbds liek a cool project. Do some research to match a corectly sized turbo and it should be a walk in the park.

If its an 84 its a 2.3 mitsu if its an 83 its a 2.2 perkins my son and myself built a 1500lb pulling tractor with a 2.2 perkins. installed turbo, had injectors beefed up,and pump turned up to put out alot of fuel the diesel shop says 250 hp but havent dynoed it yet 2 in. turbo works great

Yeah It's an 84 I thought it was the Mitsu. What size turbo did you use? I am having a hard time finding anythin on this motor. It's driven me crazy. I would love to find a turbo manifold for it. Save a lot of fab time.

Yeah im pushin like 50hp on a good day.

Do you have any suggestions for turbo size? Or a line on a manifold or anything of that nature?

We used one with 2 in. inlet and 2 in. outlet bought it new from my buddy at the diesel shop here in town. We made our own manifold (2 or 3 times) the turbo we used is actually off a mopar 4 banger. We have a 21 in. long 5 in stack running 37 lbs boost it will fill the 5 in pipe with alot of black smoke
