Hey everybody, I've had this '84 ranger with a 2.8 for a couple years now. It sat for 2 years before i got it and a year after i got it because of the starter issues. Got a new ring gear and drilled the bolt holes through so i could put nuts on the back, havent had a single issue with the starter since. Now im dealing with this damn 1980s feedback Ford mess. It starts up good every time, but it has NO power and gets no more than 8-10mpg. A full tank lasts no more than 2 days of running around town. It has a brand new reman carb. Every time I start from a stop i have to rev way high and roast the clutch to avoid killing it. Is this feedback system worth trying to fix? I durasparked my '86 straight 6 f150. Should i just do the same with the ranger? Or do any of you Ranger guys have some advice?
