Help!!
My 1983 Ranger has the Mazda (Perkins) 2.2L diesel with the T-K 4 speed tranny, and I want to go to a 5 speed. I recently came by a 1986 T-K 5 speed tranny (E67A BC) which Ford tells me is from a Ranger with a V-6.
Here,s my problem: - I love the diesel and simply want to go to a 5 speed.
- The existing 4 speed has an integral case/bell
housing casting with what looks like a separate
cast aluminum adapter between the bell housing
and the diesel engine block.
- The 5 speed uses a separate bolt on bell housing.
Here,s my question: - Does there exist a bell housing which will fit the
T-K 5 speed case, and the adapter on back of the
diesel, or directly to the diesel ?
OR
Am I going to have to live with the 4 speed. If this
is the case, I'll have a good 5 speed T-K for sale.
