What does “no paperwork” mean?

I'm guessing it means Bill of Sale only. But, maybe the OP will reply. I also understand that the "title your vehicle in Vermont" thing has come to an end or is a lot harder to do now.

That’s what I’m thinking, no title. That’s going to be a big show stopper for a lot of people.

No title, no sale, no joke.

If someone doesn't have a title, then he should take the registration, go to DMV, and have a replacement title issued before trying to sell the vehicle. For starters, transferring title becomes a nightmare without one if you're the buyer.

Trying to sell a vehicle without a title is as bad as trying to sell one at normal value that needs major work such as a head gasket. No, no. Fix the head gasket, then ask the full price. Similarly: get another title, then sell the vehicle.

Someone gave my dad a sailboat with no paperwork. It had had an outboard at one time, because it had the registration numbers on the bow. I would not have trusted it on the water because of overall condition. Years later, just to get the boat out of the yard, I took it on its trailer to a landfill and paid a few bucks to have it destroyed. Turned out, according to the city, it did have a title on file, and I sent copies of the landfill paperwork to the state to show I had disposed of the boat. But the whole thing was a hassle I could have lived without.

No title is no problem up here as long as the vehicle is old enough 🤷‍♀️ which this is.

Sucks to live where you guys do..

A “estate” title can be just as bad, I willnever buy another vehicle thats part of a estate.

Is it still for sale?

The person who posted this has not visited this site since August of 2023 so I highly doubt you will receive a response.

Very fair point, hopefully one day I can find one.

There is a 4x4 diesel first gen (think it's an '87) parked at a house down the road from me... I too want one and it calls to me every time I drive by.

They are pretty cool but IMO one of the least desirable rare truck variants because they are so hard to find parts for. Even finding repair info & part numbers is hard. I think if I wanted a diesel Ranger I would be putting a TDI swap together.
