1983 ranger 4x4 302 with stock tranny??

hey guys how's it going.
just had a question bout the tranny and transfer case on 302 swapped ranger. the guy said that he kept the stock tranny and transfer case in his 1983 auto 4 cylinder ranger. just wondering if that would really work because i'm looking into buying it off him. any info would be greatly apprciated. thanks in advance

likely a c5....they work...and work well depending on goals.

okay good. i'm just planning on getting it and doing usual engine upgrades and about 5 or so inches of lift.

i read in the tech library about the c-5 but ididn't know if that was in the 4banger. it looks like i'm gonna be gettin a new ranger again lol
