Ok so a few more questions, i got stumped on the harmonic balancer and flywheel. I decoded my engine and its a 69-74 or w/e . Now i have done some research and i hear anything below 79 runs a 28oz harmonic balancer, Im just running a normal 71 302. When i picked up my borg warner T5 transmission it has the earlier bell housing. The one you can run tri y's with ;D. Im not sure what flywheel it has and if it will work or not, i looked all over the place for information about what weight or even year it is. I have a code/vin : RF-EIZR6380-A2A and E6ZR-AA 226 B L on the flywheel. i have no idea what year it is. can anyone identify if this flywheel will work on my engine?


also i have the 1983/85 ford ranger 2wd longbed. can i run a Tri Y header?? even if i had to trim the frame a little? This one specifically http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PTE-H8426/

All T5 stock flywheels are 50oz/in. The E1 and E6 (81 and 86) are a clue. The T5 didn;t make it's appearance in the Mustangs until well after the shift to the 50 oz cranks. If you have a guy around who does engine balancing, he can rebalance those flywheels to 28. But you'll need a 28 flywheel or flexplate to let him match balance it. And yes, to your Tri-Y question. No frame trimming should be necessary. And check out the stainless tri-Y's on ebay, they sell for about the same price.
