18yrs old first project

Heyyyyy, if I get the welder back, make me a roll pan now! My 88 got rear ended. :annoyed:

so tint on the front windows never happened, i accidentally ripped the film when i was taking it off the backing and i only had 2 peices so the front sides will stay as is.

as for the axle i ground off the old shock mount and spent a little bit off time with a wire wheel getting some off the rust off so i can give it a half decent paint job. got the shock mounts welded on aswell i made sure to mesure about 8 times so hopefully they are in the right place. now just some paint change the gear oil and i should be ready to put it back in.

Good job on the Ranger! Keep it up!! Your thread takes me back to when I was a teen in shop class with a 67 Chevelle! I hated sanding too....

WTF?! When/where did you get a welder?? And why was I not informed?! Haha.

isaac i just borowed one from a buddy down the street, he isnt much of a gear head though so i dont like going over there all the time to use tools.

moooaaaaaarrrr picss.

looks alot better once i wire wheeled and sanded and grinded the ridiculous amounts of rust off and got some bumper coating on it.

I'll give you a hand tomorrow throwing that axle in there if you want.

ill probably be at the bike park most of the day tommorow, you know fufulling my duty as one of the riders on the list and doing my part by riding the jumps:P lifes good lol. sunday though if your not doing anything

Sundayyyy... I'll probably be riding most of the day. Chainless :headbang:
But I'll let you know when I know more. I'd like to start doing SOMETHING productive on a truck, rather than constantly fixing broken things. lol

axle swap got completed today minus bleeding the brakes. lots of photos for ya.

the spare wheels i have didnt fit so i had to throw them on backward to wheel it out there:icon_twisted:

thats it for now, im painting the calipers to match right now and when thats done ill bleed the brakes and take er for a test rip before it gets totally put to rest for the winter

just found your thread and enjoyed reading it. You are doing an awesome job.

thanks bubba!

finsihed off the calipers this morning got them on and bled the brakes, swapped out the alternator for the newer one i found at the junkyard and removed my center consol, i started making a cardboard template for a custom center that will leave room for a shifter when i swap to a 5 spd, it will also be a home for 3 gauges, 2 tweeters, a conceiled power inverter and some cupholders :)

I was planning on just making it out of mdf and bondo-glassing the whole thing and painting it then covering the arm rest with fabric, i have never done this before so suggestions would be great aswell as any input on the design or how i plan to build it, ill have pics up tonight

Do it up, Garrett. I think the Bondo Glass should work well over top the MDF. Just get it as close as you can with the MDF!

still looking good, you havent let anyone down with it! i too have been thinking about building a fiberglass center console, but my truck went kaput today, so now i have other things on my mind. ill check back later and see if youve got it done yet. oh yeah, did you notice any gains (on the butt dyno) with that newer intake manifold?
