I recently purchased some seventeen inch 2006 Ford Explorer wheels for a steal at $100 for the set of four. They look like:

Now my question is will they fit on my 95 2wd Ranger? They bolt up According to http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/wheel_fitment.html Also for those who have tried what size tire works without rubbing? Discount tire website recommends for 17 tires 215-50-17 or 225-50-17 what do you guys think is that too low of a profile?

Got them to fit with no modifications. I also used tire size 215-65-17 and fits perfect like a glove, no rubbing issues. Only thing that didnt work was the front center caps would not fit but thats no big deal. Finding tires will be alot easier now with 17's.:headbang:

interesting, got an pics yet of them on there

Got some take off brand new 215-65-17's Goodyear Integrity $100 so all in all with mounting and balancing I spent $260 for the rims, tires and installation.

I'm running 275 x 60 x 17s, they're 30". My wheels have a 12mm offset, and they don't rub. I'm pretty sure I'm maxed out now.

Im pretty sure I can put a wider tire on there as well, but not to sure as how far I can go. Discount tire website says 225-50-17 is recommended but that sounds like a low profile tire to me. I think at most I could probably get away with a 235-65-17 without rubbing, But I didnt want to skip out on the deal I got.
