I have a 2004 2WD Ranger, 3.0, it has the stock 15" wheels on it, I was wondering if I put 16" wheels with taller tires would I have to modify anything, and would it lift the truck any, I'm going for an "Edge" look.
Thanks

wheels will be fine if they have the correct offset and of how much bigger tire?

It depends on what size tires you're looking for.

The amount of "lift" you'd get also depends on tire diameter. If you put on a tire with a 2" larger diameter than what you have, you'll lift the truck 1".

Stock tires are 225/70/R15
the wheels and tires I'm looking at are 255/70/R16
They came off of a 2000-something F-150

here is a side by side comparison..In guessing on ford f150 back spacing

Where can one find this wheel chart at?? Pretty impressive!!

Here's my truck on 16's from a Ford Explorer, the truck in it's standard form had about 1" clearance on fronts
Fitted a 2" lift kit to front end which also levelled up the truck

Here's the truck pre 2" lift kit also showing a 15" on the rear , just to show difference in size.

Here's the difference side by side....27" & 31" diameter tires

Hope this helps..................

I have a 2005 ranger with 16" cragar 342 rims and 31.6 dia procomp tires just with a little torsion crank, and no rubbing at all. Def looks alot better then the stock tires.
Just make sure your gears can handle the tires your putting on, im liking the 4.10s i have on it, but 4.56 would be sweeter.

A little dirty but you get the point

i think like 10 1/2" - 11"

Since we are talking about wheels and tires, I was going to get some with my tax money, and I was going to get some 17's off a newer explorer if they would fit, but I have manual hubs so I was wondering 1. would they fit cause it's a stock 83. and 2. do they sell a center insert for wheels that allows a good fit for your hub to come through?
