Greetings! I am new here, actually I'm new to the truck thing too. This is a great site! Lots of info and good people.
Well, I have just purchased a 2003 FX4 Level-II and found a great deal on a set of 15x10" wheels. I would like the 10" wheels for bigger tires (the next time I buy them).
I have been searching wheel size, offset and backspacing for a couple of day's and now I'm dizzy and confused! So I'm sorry to ask the "Will these fit my truck" question, but . . . . . . .
"Will these fit my truck?" LOL
All the guy could tell me was that the wheels have an offset of +46mm, are 5x4.5 and are for a jeep YJ and TJ. They are cheap and brand new still in boxes. I don't even get to pick up my truck for a couple of weeks, so I can't even test fit the wheels. But these wheels will be gone this weekend if I don't get them.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Thank you!!!

I'm not sure how that offset would equate to your backspace but the wheels should fit.

Bolt pattern is right, I'm not sure if that year ranger had 15 or 16" rims but if they were 16's you could have a conflict with your brakes being too large. There may be some rubbing on your wheel flares at full tuck since those are so wide.

Stock wheel size 16x7 5on4.5 4.5" backspace...

It has the 15X7 Alcoa wheels stock. I don't plan on trying to put a 31x10.5 tire on a 10" rim. LOL Although I'm sure someone has done it!
Just want to pick them up before they are gone and later get a set of 33x12.5" tires.
Still have to do the torsion, shackles and prob. a 3" BL to clear the bigger tires. (but won't if I don't have to)

So the offset is of no relation to the backspacing? Does this mean that I still know nothing? LOL

Offset and backspace are two sides of the same coin. Backspace is the distance from the backside rim lip to the wheel center. Offset is how far from the middle of the rim the wheel center is. A positive offset (more backspace) means the wheel center is closer to the outer lip and tucks the tire/wheel closer to the body. A negative offset (less backspace) means the wheel center is closer to the backside lip and moves the wheel/tire farther away from the body. A zero-offset wheel means the wheel center is squarely in the middle of the rim and the backspace and frontspace would be equal. On an RBV you want zero to negative offset. Most OE rims have a slightly positive offset but the tires aren't that big either.
On a 15x10 rim for a Ranger you want between 4.0" to 4.5" backspace, whatever that is in millimeters. If I'm reading it right, the +46mm offset will put the tires too close to the body and they will rub on the inside unless you use spacers.
To fit 33x12.50's on a late-model you will need either a 3" bodylift or 4" suspension lift.

THANK YOU!!!
You just answered my next question! After lots more careful reading, I was only going to ask what is the propper "backspacing" for a 10" rim with that tire.
Not caring how much it sticks out, I no longer need to know the offset. (at least that is my understanding)

Thanks again! I think you just saved me some cash and a big headache!:)

No prob, we're here to help.
I'm back after a little sabbatical.

Hey the offset is -46 is it was + they would set inside the truck. I just mounted my new wheels on today and im running a 32x11.50 and they clear fine. I put a 33 12.50 on for a test fit and they are extremely close they would rub if the tire had tread and if hitting any bumps or flexing I would think you would have some issues if you didnt trim some. Oh yeah by the way mine are 15x10 eagles with 3 5/8 with 46mm offset. I have a 3 inch body lift and the torsion bars were crank about half way to level the truck. My tires have 1500 miles on them and are a m/t and have about an inch behind the tire at full lock. I think a 32 12.50 would look nice.

i think my 15x10 eagles have 3.75 backspace.
i dont know that offset stufff either
