i couldnt get my 1356 to fit, even with the bottom part of the frame notched to make it fit. im getting a np208 from my friend to put in.

The 1356 is over an inch and a half wider than the 4406, and won't clear the frame. The 4406 is itself a tight fit.

Just did a search using "1356" and found this good picture of the 1356 "trying" to fit in a first gen. Think it's a tight fit?

There have been a couple people that have made it fit, and without notching the frame....start by clearancing the case, cutting off the tab that sticks out, and also have modified the crossmember to shift the trans to the passenger side about in inch or so, if you have at least 6" of lift, you can also clock the tcase down below the frame...
