Hello, I'm new, although visited this site many a time as a guest. Does anyone know for certain if the 1354 transfer case will fit an e40d trans? Seems like the mounting is the same, but I'm curious about the input shaft splines and size. Thanks.

The E4OD is a heavy duty trans, used on big engines, I really doubt the 1354 will mate up correctly. The E4OD is usually used with a 4406 or the like.

E4OD - should be Ø1.390x31 spline; 1354 - should be Ø1.113x25 spline.

So, while the bolt pattern on the transmission output and the transfer case might be the same; the shafts are different.

Turning the E40D output shaft down by ~1/4" & re-splining would be possible but you would have to have a very light throttle foot. Enlarging the 1354 input by 1/4" and having any strength isn't possible.

Not only is the shaft diameter and spline count different... The mounting flange is also different. The E4OD is a 6 bolt, the 13-54 is a 5 bolt.
