I have a 1990 2.9 with Mitsubishi 5 spd. manual, 2wd. This Ranger has a very good body and paint, but developed infamous valve train clatter, with internal coolant leak at 145,000 miles. The engine and trans are out on my garage floor now. I intend to buy a 4.0 4wd parts vehicle and swap in components. The least abused potential donors are 91-94 explorers, most are auto trans. Are the BW 1354 transfer cases the same for auto or manual? The Ford manual designates them all 7A195 behind auto or manual, 1990 to 1994 at least. Also what problems will I have using the man trans behind a 4.0 with an auto trans engine computer? There is a lot of good info in the RS tech library but I could not find answears to my specific concerns. Thanks for any info,MDL
