I have a 2002 xlt ford ranger and the two 12v outlets on the dash don't work and I'm not really sure why I want to check the fuse but I'm not sure what fuse it is or what it might be any information would be greatly appreciated

When I had my 96 dash apart I found that the power lines for the 12v outlet were not even connected. The one on the left was a cigarette lighter and the one on the right was a 12v power.

I found the wires and had to reroute them to connect properly, but it worked OK once that was done so I didn't look further into the fuses.

You can, if need be, run wires out to the Power Distribution box if you have an open slot for a relay...just wire it up to run directly off the relay/battery if you don't have a connector behind there somewhere...

On a 2002 Ranger the cigarette lighter fuse is #17 20amp, power point fuse is #22 20amp

These are both in Central Junction Box(CJB), Ford's term for the cab fuse box :)
It should be behind the panel under the steering wheel
