I need to replace my cat back on my 97 long bed 114" wheel base. (it is not an extended cab, but I was told it is an extended frame?) Ford says it no longer carries the replacement parts. OK, so now what? Help

I just finished replacing the same amount of pipe on an extended cab (which is about the same as an regular cab with a long box) and I managed to get the parts from an after market shop...

The main difference, I think, is the pipe off the cat...it connects the cat to the muffler and if you order one for the extended cab short box it should fit perfectly...

but measure the distance from the cat exit to the tailpipe and you can pretty much get what you need...

I was actually surprised that the parts for my 88 were in stock at the place I went to (Canadian Tire)...and were cheaper than Ford

you are looking to change your exhaust system from the catalytic converter on back right?

I just did this on my truck.......I think yours should be the same..........the only pipe that is a different size is the one from the cat to the mufler......so you would get the intermediate pipe for the 114" WB. then you the muffler and tailpipe should be the same for all the trucks.........rockauto sells them as well as advanced auto should be able to get them no problem........I will tell you what I did...........I order a walker intermediate pipe and tail pipe from advanced auto.......I ordered it on line with the discount and the picked it up......I think they both were about $55? total...........I then went to napa and bought their muffler for $50. I also bought 2 clamps and the gasket and bolts for the cat to pipe............it took less than an hour to do the whole install.you might need the bracket for the muffler. rockauto has them for $12
