10 inch flywheel on 2.3?

I have a 96 2wd ranger and I let a young guy learn to drive a manual and after many re-starts the solenoid loosened up and the starter ate teeth off the flywheel. so I said all that to ask, can you use a 10 inch flywheel in a 2wd ranger w a 2.3? Through jc whitney its cheaper than a smaller one and I like as big a flywheel as possible.
