That's about it really, I don't really hate any particular model even if it is ugly, they all have their strong points. I just really like cars and trucks.

It's the people behind the wheel I can't stand, but you can't blame the car on that.

how do you figure? You don't see many people fly to japan to pick up their Toyota. The dealership profits, every shareholder in the US profits if the company does well, many parts on "imports" are made in the US. Chances are just as much money is going to vendors outside north america when you buy a ford or chevy. The economy is global, parts come from everywhere. Everything that is bought and sold within the US puts money into the economy whether it's made here or somewhere else

Domestic manufacturers made parts in the US for decades, they have been outsourcing to try to keep the pricing in line with the imported companies.

Up until recently every Prius on the road was built in Japan and shipped over in a boat. Now thanks to truck sales tanking they are using the shiny new Tundra plant to build them here.

Ford has one of the highest domestic parts contents of all the brands, and the F-150 has been taking first place for a couple years now.

As far as import profits leaving the country, someone needs to learn how the stock markets work. All the auto manufacturers have stockholders all over the world. The profits are spread everywhere no matter what you buy. Don't believe the union scare tactics, just use facts.


BTW, that shiny new Tundra plant in Texas was in the works in 2003 when I worked for Toyota, and truck sales were quite good.

I work for Honda and over 90% of its suppliers are right here in the U.S. 50% are from Ohio alone. Then theres a couple in canada and 2 from Japan. The only thing that is to be made stickly from japan are the motorcycles but until june or july most are made here in marysville, ohio. and i know nissan, and toyota are the same way because the all share the same bulk cantainers. and sometimes a packaging slip will make it to honda from one of the other companies. so how can you say profits leave the country... The east liberty, ohio plant is the only Honda plant making a profit in the world right now which makes the CRV and Element.

Then the least they could do is go to the right lane. Besides, how is it possible to be uncomfortable doing the speed limit? The only time I ever couldn't keep up with traffic was when I was taking the ranger through Nebraska. I maxed it out at 80.

Snow, ice, high winds, heavy rain or fog...

Trust me, there are times that you wouldn't want to run 80mph (which is only 5 over on I80)

Plus some things such as farm equipment and trucks are not capible of going that fast. Thanks to the creeper 4spd and 4.10's I highly doubt my dads F-350 could go 80mph, and if it could it wouldn't for very long (it sounds like it is screaming at 60)

If you gave me a liquid cooled one I would only take it to resell, the air cooled ones are freaking cool though

Well... let's see. I live in a town that has a university and is filled with old hippies. Lotsa fun here.

Yes, the ricer cars. Primered, cockeyed alignment on lowered suspension, body kits that make them look like something from a horror movie. The rich neighborhood next to me is full of these cars. One sounds like an outboard motor, another sounds like a trombone being played with a mute. Nice!

Dirty oil blowing hippie Volvo and Subaru wagons...gag. Owning a filty junker you don't maintain doesn't make you green. and how about stepping on the gas and doing the speed limit? 15 in a 35 doesn't cut it.

Hybrids. Similar to the above. Making a car full of batteries isn't gonna save anything.

Ford Taurus. Ok, they run, but they're the starting point of all those coyote-ugly aero cars. Now playing in a ghetto near you.

German cars... how the f--- are these things put together and how do you work on them? I do not know enough swear words to be working on them.
