1 Ton YJ Crawler build

The tires look real enough to me. Nice looking toy, should be a blast.

After so many years running stickies going to a DOT tire feels rough. But I don't have the cash to buy tires at $1k a piece right now either

Took it out for the first time and melted the shifter cable. Ordered a replacement that afternoon, just waiting on some heat shielding and it'll go back in

I need to lower the tire pressure I think. The pitbulls are just awful, they don't hook up at all, but it's hard to go from sticky treps to a DOT tire too.

The nice thing about not having a buggy/racecar anymore is that i'm not chasing down as many problems anymore, so i can do things like add fluid storage and paint the cage and rockers on the weekend

or buy parts that just kinda bolt in and work together correctly, instead of buying expensive ass racecar parts

Found a deal on some SXs, so I'm getting rid of these trash pitbulls

Your D rings make your axel tube look tiny.

I'm sure you get that a lot.

they're handy on the trailer, but so ridiculous too

Thing is awesome. You tip it over yet?

no, the pitbulls didnt get enough traction to get me into bad enough spots for that

Got my new old tires mounted. Switching to some broken in SX2s, still in 42s.

The owner of the shop has this immaculate bronco II sitting on the lot. Guess it was his neighbors

Still has the stock 4.0. At some point I'll probably go to a 5.3 or 6.0, but we'll see. The atlas makes up for the lack of a v8
I'd keep the 4.0 in it

The Jeep probably doesnt weigh enough for those tires....a little too much "floatation over terrain" effect....maybe try some narrow (like say 10.50") aggressive tread tires (like mudders) that will "dig in for traction" effect more.
