1-Ton of fun

New radiator installed, new p/s cooler installed. Ran it around the yard a while to make sure the cooling fans came on. The explorer dash cluster isn't tickling my fancy, I might ditch it for some basic gauges. I'd rather know exactly what my temp and oil is at then just a generic sweeping gauge.

Also got my brake lights and tail lights wired up. Ordered a new cb off ebay so hopefully get that this week. Need to make some tow points front and rear, undecided how to do it/ where to put it. Also installed my limit straps on the front.

So I decided to ditch the Explorer dash cluster. I picked it up at a junkyard for $25, while it worked and all my gauges and lights worked it just didn't read right. It was showing my engine temp over 3/4 and the oil pressure barely off the bottom line. As well it was screwing with my Alternator. So I bought 3 Summit gauges for now, oil-temp-volts. Got those wired in last night. Temp stays around 180, oil pressure HOT is around 25-30 @ Idle, and after wiring in a 194 bulb and socket into the Alternator harness is right at 14 @ idle with loads.

I installed the hard top, I think my LR 1/4 must sag from back to front :sonicjay:. The top fits good along the windshield and all along the pass side, but on the drivers it sits right at the rear corner but then progressively makes a larger gap up to the door pillar. Oh well nothing a few larger washers, bolts, and some thick seal can handle. Its not a street queen.

Installed the hood last night, reinstalled the front driveshaft and checked for binding. Guess I needed to run the slip at the axle side instead of the tcase. Driveshaft can operate at more of an angle without binding this way. Ears and shape of yoke make the difference.

Taking it out today to shake it down and have some fun. Figure out what more needs to be done prior to our trip to Attica in 1.5 weeks.

Fueling up, Alboy79 enjoying the view.

Yeah found I am gonna need a suck down winch. I am pretty sure I had both tires off the ground up front when I first attempted this climb. I have a limit strap in the center front to help with the unloading but I guess sometimes it needs to be a bit shorter.

Turned the reins over to Alboy, I think he might of had more seat time then I did today.

Need to lower the RF bump stop a touch, drivers side is fine. Ended up popping the headlamp out.

Looks sick man! I am jealous! How did it feel being back out?

YouTube - EB shake down.wmv

Purpose of yesterday was more or less run it around and make sure it didn't overheat, flex the susp. and check clearances and to get a general feel for the stability of the truck. Esc since I went from 118" wheel base to this 104" wheel base.

Looks so good, although I see what you mean about the front jacking up

So awesome. This thing is going to be rediculous when you get the feel for it. I think you'll like the shorter WB.

LOVE IT! Gotta show the Ol' Lady tonight. She is going to get all giddy.

And to think, this started as a F250, then a Ranger, and now is bad ass again as an EB.

Bad ass my friend. Bad ass.

Well fawk me, loaded the eb to take to work to do an alignment and change some fluids etc....

Strapping it done and noticed something wrong with the front diff :(. Guess I'll have to get creative at work to spin it back in place.
