This is about how far we got saturday.

The boogered seat mounts are only boogered on one side (done my me) the other side is welded by a good welder and they are not going anywhere.

Today Dave worked on it for me because I had work and I had to study for finals so I just stopped over to get my camera to take pics. He made the x in the main hoop, made the spreader bar and the roof bar. The truck is driving out of his garage Wednesday so he can get his race truck in the garage. All we have left is door bars, mount the steering wheel and some small finish welding.

what are you using for tube? diameter? wall?

He finished it up today, I am about to leave to go put belts in and drive it home. Pics to come

Same seats, 115" wheelbase sounds kind of familar ....keep it up.

I wish I had spent the extra 200 bucks to get prp's because I am 6'4'' and these are too small with 4 pts. PRPs can be built an extra 4in tall

I FINALLY got my ranger home.....

First it wouldn't start when we got the steering column plugged back in, evidently we missed some plugs. So we jumped it from the battery strait to the starter. All was going good till I got about half way home and it started bogging out when I gave over 3/4 throttle. It went downhill until I pulled over into the mall parking lot and give it any gas and it would start bogging out. Then I found out if you hit the brakes it would start to bog out, then I tried to flick on the brights via the steering column and it started bogging out. Finally it started just bogging out at idle, and eventually it was about to die so I just shut it off. I had my dad pick me up and we flat towed it home about an hour later. Right now I think that it is the alternator going out but I cant really test it very easily until I fix what is making it not be able to start from the cab. If anyone has any ideas run them past me.

Anyways, the truck is drivable now cage-wise. I still need to gusset every corner, grind all of the welds, paint the cage, fill the holes where the tube comes through the floor, re-seal the windows and eventually (this summer) I will cut off the top and full circle weld everything.

Oh and you can kinda see them in the last picture but he cut and bent 2 out of 3 door bars to finish the cage

I figured out that it was my battery causeing the problems, it wont hold a charge anymore. I threw my extra in and started building a push button ignition. When I had the wires ran from power to the started I touched the ends and started my truck. I went off to do some other things on my truck, came back and hooked up the switch and no start. I took the wires out of the switch and just touched the ends, and no start. When I put one of the wires on metal it sparks so it obviously has power, the other one does not so I assume it is the wire coming from the started (same color, cant tell apart in the cab,) so I am at a loss. I took a break and I am going to go back out in a bit. I hope the starter wire just came disconnected but I am not sure how that would happen because it is crimped and shrink tubed to the connecter...

Figured out the ends are bad, it should run tonight if I feel like working on it...

Finally got this stupid truck running, bad news. The only thing that works on the gauge cluster is the gas gauge, no windshield wipers, and it looks really hack...
