Some of the best scale engines I have ever seen are made by Replica Engines. Guy wanted a scale engine for his RC plane, couldn't find any so started building them. Hobby got out of control and he started on true 1/4 scale of car engines. All scaled to true size except for the oil passage ways. Can even set the valves on the Harley he built. The airplane motor is really different in that it is a rotary from a WWI byplane. The crankshaft does not turn but the pistons rotate around it.

That sounds and looks like it would be a pain to fuel and oil, but it seems to work....

Ever see some of the old movies of WWI where the pilot is covered in oil? They ran a oil system with no recovery, just blew out the cylinders, don't know how the gas was supplied, good question.
