0w30 in M5OD, check in?

, tried using a 15/16 wrench on my filler plug and it wasn't quite right, what size metric wrench are you using to remove your fill & drain plugs? i think Arnold put in my filler plug the last time the oil got changed.

the correct socket size is 24 mm

hate to thread jack, but whats the differnece between 0w#0 and say an ATF in the trans?

Big one that comes to mind would be, one is a Lubricating Oil and the other is a Hydraulic Fluid.

I'm another running the 0W30 synthetic oil... only, just in the transfer case (A4ld uses MerconV). I have had no "lubrication" issues using it. I have blown up two transfer cases in the past year though... One was just plain stupidity and the other was a broken oil pump pick up hose. The later of the two, the failure was a worn out shift fork. All bearings and gears were in pristine condition. I actually repaired that particular case and had it for a spare. The first of the two was a high load situation... it locked up from a well worn chain and took out the transmission (BIG FREAKING BOOM). I took that case apart and also, found no damage to any bearings or gears.
Now, some might wonder about my failures and think it's because of the lubrication... but in all fairness, neither transfer case was torn down and inspected before swapping to 0W30 synthetic oil.

Oh, also... 0W30 oil is available at Canadian Tire... and most Petro Canada outlets. Where I work, we go through about 400 liters a winter and never have an issue getting it... It's also a bit of a perk for me too!
