I have an 04 2.3 5 speed manual Ranger with 123,000. The tranny needs replacing because of it running low on fluid a year ago. I plan on replacing everything relating to the clutch and tranny: clutch, clutch master, clutch slave, pilot bearing and tranny. I bought a 5 speed out of an 09 with 1,500 miles on it. The clutch slave cylinder came with it. The yard said the trannys 04 to 09 are the same. The Ford dealer told me the slave cylinder late summer 08 and up is different than previous years. Since I already have an 09 clutch slave, how about installing all the rest of the parts that are 09? Would an 09 master, and clutch assembly bolt into my 04?
