hey guys
no idea if this is in the right place but oh well
im new to all this stuff with lifting trucks and things like that

has anyone had any expierience with the h&m lift kit for the 2wd ranger?
its the cheapest i could find cuz im 17, no job, and im tight on money

and since im new to this
will my truck sit level with just the front suspension kit(its sounds stupid unless you actually think about it)
a friend told me that it will sit level until i step on the gas and then the front will raise up
he said it will sit level because the front shocks will be really soft

and with just a kit on the front will i have to lift the rear at all?
here is the link to the kit
http://hnmmotorsports.com/1998rangerperformance.shtml

can anyone tell me if that dude lifted the back at all?
cuz i want my truck to look exactly like that
and to me those look like 31's, can anyone tell me what size the tires are?

thanks a lot guys
and thanks for putting up with these dumb questions i have, just trying to figure out what the hell i need to do here

thats an expensive kit for a cheap look!

i dont think he lifted the rear. the tires look like possible 33s but not sure. why not just buy a leveling kit for like a thousand bucks cheaper if all your going for is "the look"?

where are you located? theres a lot of socal forums where people sell there used stuff for very cheap but still in good condition. good luck!

atleast go with camburg if your going to pay that much, $100 more, 5.5 inch lift 9-10" of travel,

for a cheap lift could go with a fab tech 3 inch spindal lift

To make it cheaper can I just get a leveling kit and some fender flares?
That will look exactly the same with half the cost right?
And on my ranger im gunna get 31x1050 and that will most likely rub because I have an a-arm, do they make any spacers that I can put to make my front wheels stick out more so there's no rub?

And just so everyone knows, this is for a daily driver but im occaisonally gunna take her on the trails..so its somewhat for the look but I need the quality to go off roading. Will a leveling kit be ok with that?
And im not going to be doing any crazy off roading just simple stuff cuz I only have a 2.3:D
Thanks for all your help guys
Eric

If this helps for my post above, I want it to look like a prerunner and I don't want to lift the back..I just like that look.

Any help would help(haha)
:D
Thanks
Eric

the H&M kit and the camburg kit are dam near equal.upper arm, spindal and coil spring kits.

as for the prerunner "look" no true prerunner sit's ass down. All that dose is hinder visablity and look stupid. I know where you get the thought from, from seeing 700+hp Trouphy trucks take off on the starting line. And they squat in the rear and lift in the front(weight transfer).Once they get going they sit level or slighty nose down. The driver needs to see the terrian, not the sky.

The H&M kit im 80% sure the truck is on 33's

if your just after 31's and looks, and dont care about extra travel a spindal lift would fit you just fine with a pair of billsitens in the front and a add a leaf in the back and anouther pair of billsitens.

thanks canyon

do you know where i can find this stuff?
im just looking for a leveling kit for my 08 but cant find one for an 08 2wd sport.

i think that will look fine and the 31's will fit the back without raising it
and ill just get some fender flares for the front
i know it doesnt sit ass down, what i meant by the look of the prerunner was just like the fender flares and the front wheels sticking out a little bit

can i accomplish that look with just:

a leveling kit, and fender flares? and will that be able to handle weekend offroading until i can save up and buy a pre runner kit for my truck?

and as for wheel spacers for the clearing of the front, where can i find those?
the only reason im looking for the wheels spacers is because so many people have told me before that me fronts will rub with 31's

thanks again
eric

here is the thing wiht levling kits on A-arm ranger's. It takes away most if not all your down travel.and will make the truck ride like ass.As the front wheels have no down travel left in them and it makes the wheels skip as the truck just runs out of suspention.you will really feel this over speed bumps.
Also it can make baljoints wear out faster, if you dont limit the travel. As they will go in to extreme angles and even bind up.If they bind up, they can sheear off. Also the upper arm can hit the frame and cause the suspention to bind with out limit strap's.
this would be a ok route for a street queen, but not something to really take off road.

As for parts Im not a parts guru on A-arm rangers.AS I know they brakes sizes changed in certain years. They went bigger. You can swap your brakes out for the smaller brakes.to get by for a cheap spindle lift.

My best advice would to be go to desertrides.com and ask about parts from who and where. As there are a handfull of guys over there that are A-arm gurus.

as for the flared fenders, there are a few comapnys.

fiberwerx.com

glassworksunlimted

hanamen(sp?).com just google them, they are out of azuza cali.
