Im getting ready to draw up plans for my skid plate. I was wondering where the bottom of the skid plate should mount to.

Also what kind of tubular steel to use.

thanks.

pics would be nice if applicable.

Mild steel I think is what most people use. I made mine out of sched 40 but I hear a lot of people recommend against it.

1.5-1.75 mild would be fine. make a hoop that comes off the bottom of the frame around 6" away from the front with tubes running along the plate up to your main bar, that seems to be the most popular way people do it..thats how mine is done and it seems to hold up great.

here is an old pic:

"6" away from the front" you mean '6" back' right?
how far from the frame should the hoop be made (how far should it hang down)
