Hello. My name is Tristan. I live in south western Canada. Kamloops B.C. I’ve been viewing the forum for years. Finally decided to step up, and signed up. I’m certain the information that I have been searching is on the web somewhere.

I’ve spent my life in automotive shops, and autobody shops. Never really built an off-road capable vehicle. Always just wanted to go fast, with muscle cars. But now I’d like to build something, that I don’t have to keep in the garage.

I am purchasing axles/suspension/drivelines from a low km(mileage) 99 Cherokee with d30 front, and 8.25 rear. I understand that I could have waited on finding something much stronger. But I don’t beat on things, and the largest tire that I’d ever consider running, is a 33.

the Cherokee has a 6” suspension lift. I’ve searched over and over, for info to run the coil overs from the Cherokee on my truck. I will try to get the Cherokee towed to my place, this week.

I had meant to bring a tape measure with me, when I looked at it. I had forgot though. I know that there is lots of info, for running leafs.

I’m curious if any Ranger station members could offer me some advice, our point me in the right direction.

Any assistance that you may have, is greatly appreciated!

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Have you looked at the Technical section yet? There will be information about doing this there as well as posts on the main forum. Welcome to the forum and good luck!

Thanks. I have to apologize. I’m more mechanically inclined, than I am with the internet/electronics. (Or so I like to think) I’ve obviously over looked a tech area..

Hey I live in Kelowna and just finished doing a SAS on my Ranger. Im not sure if you're a member of the BC ranger club. If not i recommend joining. Lots of good people with lots of info.

As for your project, what exactly are you asking? If that cherokee has coil overs im sure you can run them on the ranger. But you will obviously have to build the mounts on the frame at your preferred right height. And pay attention to the shock travel.

Also I wouldnt bother swapping the 8.25 in a Ranger. Most rangers came with the 8.8 28 spline which will hold up to 33s no problem.
